Guarding Your Personal Pets Indefinitely

Animal cruelty is a word that gets thrown around, but that few people really think of. Usually you picture an animal that’s being openly abused, and that really needs someone to come rescue them. But even though SPCA International and others fight it, there are still situations that can crop up where you could claim cruelty even with the family pet.

First off, looking for the warning signs is always important. Dogs that are left outside all the time and that are not given adequate shelter to protect them from the heat or the cold is always a telltale sign.

While it may not seem like your vehicle can get too hot when you’re just going to have them out there for a few minutes while you run into the store, it only takes a few moments for the average car to hit 100 degrees in hot weather.

That’s dangerous for your pet, and can cause all sorts of health problems. That’s why it’s not a risk that you want to take, and it’s not something that your dog deserves to be put through either.

Being smart is what you really have to do if you want to prevent animal cruelty. Most situations can be resolved by just using common sense to get through without accidentally supporting cruelty to animals. You can also turn to SPCAI for assistance.

For example, if you buy your dog at a pet store, you’re actually doing the wrong thing. No matter what they say, more often than not this is supporting puppy mills.

But if your dog does have to be outside all the time, you’ve also got to give them shelter as well. Dogs are strong, and are made to live outside if they have to. But that doesn’t mean they should be given no protection from storms, heat or the cold.

You’ve got to have shelter for them if your dog is going to be an outdoor one more often than not. Otherwise you’re just not taking proper care of them at all.
