When an individual begins to become familiar with the Mormon faith one of the hardest aspects of the faith to accept is the baptism of the dead. This is something that most churches nowadays do not practice. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints known as the Mormons do continue this practice and are quite aggressive in its pursuit.

This is something that started in 1840 and was instituted by the founder of the Mormon church which was Joseph Smith. Since that time it is practiced continually. At one time the Catholic Church had a similar tradition but this was abandoned many years ago because it was considered wrong.

The Mormons do not flaunt this ordinance but they do practice it as quietly as possible. It became far more prevalent and known to the world when it was found out that the Mormons had gone through the baptism ritual for all of those that lost their lives in the Holocaust from World War Two. You may think that this has been put by the wayside and forgotten but it is something that is still very much prominent in many of the discussions regarding the Mormons in relation to the Jews and the baptisms.

The curiosity of this is some individuals wonder what would happen if someone else started doing these forms of baptism for Mormons. This is not something that has been a new thought that and there was actually a book that suggested this called the End of Grace. This was a fictional book written up by a Thomas Murphy.

It was a book that told the story of this big massive religious organization that took on the job of converting the Mormon souls. In the end what happened is that the baptisms actually affected the tithing income and this did not sit well with the Mormons.

What makes the book so intriguing is that for this day of age at the plot is really quite applicable. It has everything that one would expect from a bestseller book but the concept comes down tp that most readers find it good reading but then end up finding that they are mulling it over for several days to come. This is a book that is classed as making one think

An interesting fact that perhaps many people don’t realize that is that the current president of the United States president Obamas Mother had died in 1995 but she was baptized into the Mormon church last June. There are many estimates floating around as to just how many have been unknowingly baptized and the average estimate is around several million. There are now some saying that there have actually been billions. Naturally this is in something that someone is not going to be giving permission for being as this is a baptism of the dead.

Although it may be a somewhat controversial ordinance this is something that the Mormons do not flaunt and prefer to keep it somewhat quiet in order to keep the controversy down and not draw a great deal of attention to it. Albeit they have every intention of continuing this as part of one of their ordinances.

Discover the truth behind the mormon lds missionary. This is an overview of the lds mission and what they stand for. The truth will shock you!

Almost every Mormon will answer the question are Mormons Christians with an addict yes.

It can become quite complex when trying to sort out just what do the Mormons believe. On the surface it seems like they are in tune with what Christianity teaches. They believe that Jesus is the Redeemer and the son of God and that his atonement was for all mankind. They will refer to the holy Bible in this regard but then they also depend on another book very strongly over and above the Bible. This is called the book of Mormon. In this book it is declared that their job is to convince the Jews and gentiles that Jesus is the Christ.

According to the Latter-day Saints Church which is the Mormon church Joseph Smith is the one and only prophet that God chose to reveal his new church to. Now its interesting to note about how they promote Joseph as they make the statement that the fundamental principles of their church is simply that Christ was buried arose again the third day and then went on to Heaven. The problem is though that they will say that anything else that is added to this is an appendage. This is something that goes against Christianity as it stands upon the premise that there is to be nothing added extra to God’s holy Word which is contained in the holy Bible.

Another controversy with the Mormons is that they have the strong stand on what they feel that a Christian is which is of course is only within their religion according to them. They also will not tell you that they believe that it is possible that one can still be a Christian and have a different point of view to theirs.

It’s really interesting to see how they will take the Scripture and apply it to their belief they will point out that the term Christian or Christians is only spoken up three times in the New Testament the interpretation of a Christian is in their eyes one that follows Christ.

The Mormons have difficulty understanding why Christians will only depend on the one specific book being the Holy Bible. Their argument is that it is inconclusive and that a lot of its information was lost over the years and that it also has not been historical proven. This is their explanation of needing the book written by their prophet Joseph Smith.

They also promote that the word Christian has been used somewhat loosely over the many many years. So in as a word in itself it is really not all that clear. The Mormons who will resort back to history in many cases to stand on their beliefs and to put down some of the beliefs of the Christians as we know it today. They believe that many of the Christian teachings and practices are not true and are in many ways lacking many of the truths and are inadequate to put it as simple as possible. They will tell you that a Christian is a person who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord. This again sounds just exactly as what a Christian would tell you. The difference is that there will be an appendage to this on the behalf of the Mormons where it will not be with the Christians.

An individual that is a Mormon will tell you that their church is a strong encouragement in their reading of their book of Mormon on a daily basis. Even though the Prophets support this it is not uncommon for a Mormon to get taken up with the other aspects of life and forget to read their book. They do not take away from the emphasis that the book of Mormon is what the truth of their church is based on and it is critical reading material. It is extremely an important that for a Mormon to make the reading of the book of Mormon a part of their daily life

A Mormon may question themselves when they are not fulfilling their reading task as to why it is such a difficult aspect for them to do. They may put it down to a lack of faith or perhaps not having any purpose and then there are those that maybe think that it is too boring or that there are other pressing matters. It can even come down to daily living superseding the requirement for reading the book.

There are things that the Mormon could do to help overcome these stumbling blocks.

They could read with purpose If one is just reading the book for the sake of reading it then it’s not going to have the effect or purpose it should have. Reading it should not be a chore and it should be something that is looked forward to. So when reading the book ideally one should ask themselves what is the purpose and what do they hope to achieve from this?

Bring the book of Mormon to life with media With the new technology then it being able to use the media helps one to envision as part of the book of Mormon and it should be a source of encouragement.

Use the chart Keeping track of your reading regime will be of great help as people like to see their achievements as they progress.

Make it a challenge Quite often an individual likes to take great pleasure in meeting at challenge. If one is to challenge themselves to read the book of Mormon this is often encouragement in itself. It will encourage the drive to succeed. One can set milestones for themselves to read a certain amount that day perhaps a chapter or even set a time limit of a half an hour for example. It is important to create a daily challenge in order for one to continue and complete what they are hoping to gain.

Desire Make it a point to want to read the book of Mormon as opposed to looking at it as a chore. The best way to do this is to pray for the desire to want to accomplish the reading as it is the doctrine of the church stands upon.

These are just some hints and suggestions to help the Mormon with their daily reading which is the cornerstone of their faith.

It is the custom of a Mormon to simply ask the nonbelievers or the non-Mormon to simply pray about Joseph Smiths message that he delivered when he wrote the book of Mormon which was based on his vision .It is believed that if you will do so that the book will become confirmed by one feeling a burning in their chest as a testament that they have received their word and will realize that this is the true word. The Mormon church upholds the belief that Joseph Smith was put in the position of creating the Book of Mormon. In Josephs vision he was supposedly declared to be the true prophet of God and to start the true church of God and to restore what it was meant to be here on earth. The book of Mormon is the testament or their Bible in support of this. According to the Holy Bible however the true test of a prophet is by the truthfulness of the message that it is received from them and not by prayer

There are many contradictions between many different religions and the consensus of many is that the belief should not be based on the feeling but on the wisdom of the word and the individual’s interpretation of that word. Caution is often raised in that many religions will work on feelings and these throughout history have caused followers of some cults to commit suicide just to get their pathway into heaven. Their faith is not what is questioned it is what they base their feelings on as being non-objective obviously.

If one really wants to make their opinions about Mormonism then they should take a look at where it came from which was Joseph Smith and the writings that they base their belief on. In addition as to what their doctrines are and what support they have for these particular doctrines. and what historical events have come through the centuries that give credence to their beliefs. The big problem here is that there doesn’t seem to be any historical proof of any kind that the doctrine of the Mormons existed back in the biblical days. There are many aspects that must be looked at when it comes to what the Mormons are teaching. First of all one has to look at their writings which is the book of Mormon that first was published in 1830. Compare that to the publication of today and you are going to see almost 4000 changes albeit not all to do with the meaning of the text although there is some that has been changed as well. According to the Mormons the translation of the book done by Joseph Smith was in perfection.

When it comes to plagiarism there is no doubt that one will find a great deal that has been taken from the holy Bible itself.

Lamanites According to the book of Mormons centuries ago there was a great war, where the only tribe left was the Lamanites. These are the Ancestors of the American Indians which means they are also direct descendants of the Isralites led by Father Lehi who went to America. The story ends with these decedents breaking into two groups one good and one bad, and the American Indian happens to be bad so they were cursed with black skin. It must be remembered that when the Book of Mormons was written slavery was still in effect. It is interesting to note that according to the Mormons this book of theirs was written from sacred gold plates. Yet they carry the tone of the era they were translated in.

Changes in the Doctrine and Covenants It must be noted that the belief is that the doctrine and covenants abided by the Mormons is actual revelations. However, it would seem that over the years these have been changed, omitted or added to.

Discover the shocking discovery about Mormonism that changed everything. Previously a mormon of 15 years, Simon the member of church of jesus christ latter day saints reveals secret scriptures for the temple lds

The Mormon Temple is to the Mormons as the church is to the Christians. This is their house of worship and is to signify their faith in God.

They are often referred to as Mormon temples and they carry with them a very strict ordinance. They will tell you very clearly that as part of these ordinances is the endowment and baptism for the dead as well as a sealing of marriages. They will stipulate to you that any of the ordinances carried out in any of the Mormon temples has to be performed through the priesthood of God. Simply being because this is what Jesus referred to when he taught various scriptures. Therefore it is believed because the priesthood is eternal all the ordinances must be carried out by the people in authority in the priesthood of the Mormon religion.

The endowment first of all is that you must receive these as the ordinances in the house of God which are important for you after death where you can go back to the Lord. You will gain your exultation that will last forever. This endowment is the temple endowment and is based on instruction regarding the past including the creation of Earth as we know it. It covers the ultimate plan of redemption and when the ceremony is taking place the individuals participating must make promises to God in the ceremony. There are covenants that deal with life itself, high ideals where truth stands, and patriotism to the nation and all allegiance to God. The return for making these covenants with God will mean the receiving of specific blessings. It doesn\’t matter what their race or financial status is of any individual as this has no bearing on their blessings.

The baptism for the dead is applicable to anyone that has lived on the earth and died unless they were before the age of eight. This is on the premise that God has made an allowance for those prior to this age. Those who were not baptized when on earth will be represented by proxy and a baptism is conducted in the proxy meaning people will stand in for the dead.

Sealings are in reference to marriages where there are special rooms in the Mormon Temple to carry out these rituals. The marriage ceremony conducted by the Mormons according to their beliefs is not just for the binding of marriage on earth but is for all eternity. This is applicable to the here and after and this all only take place however if it has been conducted by the holy priesthood of the Mormon religion. The Mormons will go even further and seek out their ancestors and will provide ceremonies to seal them as well so that the eternal family chain will not be broken.

These are just a few of the beliefs and are based on basically the main purposes of the temple. There are many beliefs and many books that the Mormons will abide by. Their ultimate book is the book of Mormons although they do purport to rely on the King James version of the Bible as well.
